North Star was the pioneer in adventure and outdoor education in the Middle East Region. Established in 1997, we continue to grow as the leading provider of safe, educational, cultural and fun adventures for young people.

We opened our purpose-built adventure centre for school-aged students in Dibba, Fujairah in 2000. A base camp for many of our activities, the centre is the premier outdoor education facility in operation in the Middle East. Wholly owned and operated by North Star and used only for its clients, it was specifically built to focus on the safety and well-being of its students.

North Star provides a variety of adventure, culture, education and community service projects in destinations across the globe. We specialize in Adventure Expeditions, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards/International Awards, community/charitable projects, and curriculum-based educational trips.

North Star’s team is led by our Founder & Director Paul Flaherty B.E.M. Having served many years in the Special Air Service (SAS) as a Senior Instructor, he has an extensive background in teaching and organization. He is heavily involved in all practical aspects of North Star’s programs to ensure that the highest standard of safety and education is maintained.

Behind him is a team of highly experienced and qualified professionals who possess a wide range of outdoor educational skills with diverse academic and cultural experiences. As a team, we are passionate about what we do and enjoy passing on our knowledge to the next generation.
