Sabah

Situated on the island of Borneo, Sabah is the second largest of the thirteen states of Malaysia. It is a land of awe-inspiring natural scenery, lush primary rainforests, vibrant coral reefs and mysterious indigenous cultures. Home to more than 30 different ethnic races and over 80 local dialects, Sabah shares the island of Borneo with Sarawak, Brunei and Indonesian Kalimantan.

Sabah also boasts one of the tallest mountains in the world. Standing at a height of 4,095m above sea level, Mount Kinabalu boasts the world’s highest via ferrata, has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status and is one of the most important biological sites in the world for the sheer variety of plants and animal species which can be found there.

North Star’s programs offer excellent treks in the deep jungles of Borneo, white water rafting in its impressive rivers, as well as a close look at the wildlife only found within these unique habitats.
